Holiday Consumerism

Don’t get me wrong, I like Christmas but I prefer to enjoy the fall season and colors for a while before seeing Christmas decorations too early. It seems that every store I go into, early Christmas decorations abound. Every year, stores seem to push their holiday goods earlier and earlier. In some stores, decorations were actually displayed in September. I remember a day when Thanksgiving decor came out right after Halloween, and Christmas decor came out right after Thanksgiving. It is starting to feel like these holidays only represent a huge consumerism push and the real meaning of each holiday is getting lost in the shuffle.
